Zusammenfassung
In den letzten Jahren hat sich das Interesse an politischen und infrastrukturellen Ansätzen zur populationsbezogenen Bewegungsförderung international deutlich verstärkt, während es in der deutschen sportwissenschaftlichen Diskussion allenfalls als randständiges Thema präsent ist. Der vorliegende Beitrag fasst die wissenschaftlichen Evidenzen zu den Bezügen zwischen Politik und Infrastrukturen und Bewegung zusammen. Darüber hinaus werden erste Ergebnisse eines von der EU geförderten internationalen Forschungsprojekts vorgestellt (Improving Infrastructures for Leisure-Time Physical Activity in the Local Arena – IMPALA), welches sich um die Identifizierung von Kriterien guter Praxis für die Entwicklung von Infrastrukturen zur Bewegungsförderung im europäischen Kontext bemüht.

Abstract
Interest in policy and environmental interventions for the promotion of physical activity on the population level have surged internationally, while German sports science has so far only had a modest interest in the topic. The article summarizes existing evidence of relationships between policy, the environment, and physical activity behaviour. Furthermore, it presents first results of an EU funded international research project (Improving Infrastructures for Leisure-Time Physical Activity in the Local Arena – IMPALA), which attempts to identify good practice criteria for the development of infrastructures for physical activity promotion in the European context.
